Independent Medical Education
Immunocore is committed to responding to reasonable, proportional and genuine requests for support from healthcare organisations, academia and patient organizations for Independent Medical Education grants.
Independent Medical Education
-
Independent Medical Education helps physicians and other medical professionals to obtain information and insights that can contribute to the improvement of patient care, and therefore, financial support from companies is appropriate. CME is also known as Independent Medical Education (IME). In general use, CME in the US refers to educational events that have been approved for CME credits. To ensure that the validity of an activity and its independence from the company has been well-considered, Immunocore requires US-specific requests for CME to be reviewed through the same process as a grant or a donation.
Eligible organizations are invited to submit their applications by downloading the attached document and emailing it to, grants.donations@immunocore.com. Applications will be reviewed collectively by the Immunocore Grants and Donations Committee. Please allow four weeks for a decision.
Written agreements associated with independent medical education must include:
-
Description of the grant.
-
Objective of the grant (including details on how it will support healthcare, scientific research or education).
- The names of the organizations / parties involved, and their respective roles.
- The type of activity and the nature of the company’s contribution.
- The timeframe.
- The amount of funding and/or a description of indirect/non-financial, in-kind donation and the nature of that
donation. Where possible a full breakdown of costs should be included.
- A statement that all parties are fully aware that the grant must be clearly acknowledged and apparent from the
outset.
- The signatories to the agreement
- The date of the agreement
Requests for grants from healthcare organizations (HCOs), patient organizations, and academic/research institutions must be assessed to ensure compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice when requests are received from UK healthcare organizations, patient organizations and other organizations, the EFPIA Code and the applicable national legislation when requests are received from European entities, and the PhRMA Code, federal anti-kickback laws, and FDA regulations and guidance, when requests are received from US-based entities.
